Waheeda joined Berlad Graham LLP in 2017 as a Senior Consultant with a focus on property law and practice, within the areas of commercial/residential property transactions and property dispute resolution.
Having qualified in 2006 with a West End/London firm, she has continued to focus on property law, assisting a varied client base of individuals and businesses, from first-time buyers to investor-clients in the UK and abroad.
Dispute resolution areas covered include trust of land/co-ownership disputes including mediation, repossession of residential and commercial property, right of way and trespass matters, adverse possession, landlord/tenant disputes including debt recovery and breach of covenant.
With Court rules increasingly placing an emphasis on cost-efficiency, be it before or during legal proceedings, Waheeda takes a birds-eye view and advises on the foreseeable: options, outcomes and costs.
Transactional work covers both commercial and residential property, including: sale/purchase of freehold/leasehold property, auction sales/purchases, grant of lease, lease renewal, refinance/secured lending, SPV-purchase, lease extensions, deed of variation, transfer of equity, re-mortgages, right to buy and property-related trust deeds.
Waheeda is originally from Mauritius and also speaks her mother-tongue, Creole; she enjoys visiting whenever possible to see family and friends, and to simply enjoy the lush greenness of the island. She is a keen cook, yoga-enthusiast and loves music.
